Biography
First Woman to be made a beer inspector for Cask Marque Trust

At 37 years old, Annabel Smith became the first woman beer inspector for Cask Marque Trust in 2005. After 8 years of male only inspectors, Annabel joined a team of 49 male colleagues. She started her career in 1990 running a Yorkshire pub, became one of the first female Beer Sommeliers in 2012, and in 2017 was awarded Imbibe Educator of the Year. She is joint director of Dea Latis, the group founded to make beer a more appealing proposition to women in the UK.
