First Woman to command a Naval base

Karen Dalton-Fyfe joined the Royal Navy in 1997 as a warfare officer. On promotion to Commander in 2014, she became the first female to Command a Royal Navy Hydrographic Ship – HMS SCOTT, the Royal Navy’s largest Hydrographic Survey Ship. She has spent 20 years exploring the world’s seas and oceans for the Royal Navy.
