First Woman to win the Man Booker prize for fiction, twice (2009 & 2012)

A British novelist and essayist, Dame Hilary became the first woman to win the Man Booker Prize for Fiction twice in 2009 and 2012. In its forty year history only 14 women have won this annual award. Dame Hilary’s first novel was published in 1985 and she has achieved over 20 literary awards since 1987. She is author of 11 published novels. Dame Hilary Mantel is a First Women UK Ambassador.
