First Woman in the world to win and Olympic Boxing Gold Medal (2012)

Nicola Adams, The Lioness, is the first woman to win an Olympic boxing title, landing Olympic gold medals in London 2012 & Rio 2016 in the women’s flyweight division. She also was the first openly LGBT person to win an Olympic boxing gold medal. Adams is the first ever female boxer to hold Commonwealth, European, World and Olympic titles. In 2007, she was the first English woman to win a boxing medal in a major tournament, taking Silver at the European Championships in Denmark.
