First Woman to be elected to the full committee of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) and to hit a six at Lords

In 2004 Baroness Rachael Heyhoe Flint was the first woman to be elected to the full committee of the Marylebone Cricket Club. In 1999, 200 years after the club was founded, she was one of only ten inaugural women members admitted to the club’s 15,000 strong membership. Rachel was also the first woman to hit a six in a test match, television’s first female spores commentator and founder of the first Women’s World Cup in 1973, when she captained England and won the tournament.
