Biography

 

First Woman to swim from Cornwall to the Isles of Scilly

b.1977, Somerset

Marathon swimmer Beth French was not just the first woman but the first person to swim the 26 miles from Cornwall to the Isles of Scilly in 2014, at the age of 37. She completed this epic swim in 17 hours and 28 minutes. An ME sufferer for 7 years including a year in a wheelchair, Beth is also the first woman to have swum Hawaii’s Molokai channel twice. Beth French is a First Women UK Ambassador.
