First Woman to be head of Drama and Comedy at BBC Radio 4

Named by The Guardian newspaper as one of the most ‘influential comedy executives of her generation’, Caroline Raphael was the first woman to be made head of radio drama at the BBC. After joining the BBC in 1984, Caroline attained the post a decade later at the age of 44, the first woman to hold this prestigious and influential role since the birth of BBC radio drama in the 1920s.
