Carolynn Sells (with Layla & Bobbi)
First Woman to win the Manx Grand Prix TT motorcycle race
May 2015, Murray’s Motorcycle Museum, Isle of Man
Carolynn Sells started riding motorbikes at 12 years old. She is the first, and to dare, only woman to win a solo motorcycle race on the Isle of Man TT Mountain Course; a circuit that has had predominantly male competitors since 1907. Twenty years to the day after the first woman was allowed to rake part in the Isle of Man Manx Grand Prix, Carolynn made history in 2009 by winning; an achievement that also landed her a Guinness world record.
