First Woman to defeat a man in a televised UK major open darts championship

Deta Hedman is an English darts player and in 2005 became the first woman to defeat a man in a televised UK major open darts championship. On her retirement in 1997 she had been Women’s World Number 1 for three years. Since her return to BDO darts in 2009 Deta has become the first person to be 10 times World darts Federation number 1 ranked, and first to win 100 world ranked titles.
