First Woman to be The Curator and Head of the Royal Academy Schools

With a BA in Fine Art and MA in painting, Eliza Bonham Carter became Curator and Head of the RA (Royal Academy) Schools in 2006 – the first woman to do so since the RA was founded in 1768. The RA is an independent institution led by eminent artists and architects promoting the creation, enjoyment and appreciation of the visual arts through exhibitions, education and debate. Eliza has exhibited widely and has work in both private and public collections.
