After joining the company in 1979, Gill Rider went on to become the first woman to be made a partner of UK Accenture in 1990. She then became their global Chief Leadership Officer 12 years later. Her role oversaw the people, culture and change of 130,000 staff in 48 countries. Accenture is a Fortune 500 company; which was started in the 1950s (taking the name Accenture in 2001) and recorded net revenues of nearly $35 billion in 2017.
