June 2011, The Cutting Room, Gieves and Hawkes, Savile Row, London

b. Leeds

In 2009 Kathryn Sargent became the first female head cutter in the history of Savile Row, ending a 200 year male monopoly. In 2016 she opened her own business, Kathryn Sargent Bespoke Tailoring was the first female namesake store to open on (arguably) the world’s most well-known street for males’ custom suiting. In 2000 Sargent won the Golden Shears Award, a hallmark of excellence awarded to industry newcomers.
