British architect Ruth Reed became the fast woman President of the Royal Institute of British Architects in 2009 for a term of 2 years. RIBA was formed in 1834 and Reed was 52 years old when she made history after more man 175 years of male leadership within the organisation. Reed was RIBA’s 73rd president and its first academic president.
